Hatching into the crochet world is Peekaboo Pals Hatching Chick. This transforming amigurumi starts as an egg and hatches into an adorable baby chick! A super fun project that works up quickly. It’s very rewarding to make and is addictive to transform. Includes over 45 color photos to help walk you through the process! Peekaboo Pals Hatching Chick is worked in the round & some parts are worked flat. Requires knowledge of basic crochet stitches as well as joining amigurumi parts. Some amigurumi experience is recommended.
This pattern is written in English using US crochet terms and is intended for use with blanket yarn. I used Bernat Blanket, but it works well with Premiere Basix, Parfait Chunky, Sweet Snuggles, Yarn Bee Cozy Occasion, or any other super bulky or bulky weight yarn. You can use worsted weight acrylic as well for a smaller end result. Finished Chick is approx. 6 inches tall when made using Bernat Blanket.
Materials needed:
Blanket yarn in main color
Blanket yarn in alternate color
6.5mm crochet hook
12mm felt or safety eyes
Polyfil stuffing (or stuffing material of choice)
Craft glue (if using felt eyes)
Yarn needle, scissors, stitch markers
