Show your love of all things spooky while having somewhere to store your Handbook for the Recently Deceased with The Showtime Bag! This Beetlejuice inspired crochet bag is fully lined and features spooky, slime drip trim with an internal pocket for your trinkets. The example is a 9" x 13.5" messenger bag, but my instructions show you how to make this bag in any size! The bag is fully lined with interfacing to keep it's shape, and I cover the entire process. I also cover strap options, and walk you through making a removable & adjustable strap for your bag.
This pattern is written in English using US Crochet terms
Materials:
For the crocheted bag:
C1: Black yarn (I used Big Twist Classic in black, 260yds)
C2: White yarn (I used Premier Ever Soft in white, 220yds)
C3: Purple Yarn (I used Caron Simply Soft in purple, 45 yds)
C4: Neon green yarn (I used I Love This Yarn in Limelight, 120yds)
A 5.5mm crochet hook, or the appropriate hook for your yarn size
Stitch markers, Scissors, Yarn needle, Measuring tape, Sewing pins
For the bag liner:
1 yd cotton fabric of choice
1 yd stiff fusible interfacing (I used Pellon 71F)
Sewing needle & thread in complimentary color
An Iron
For the strap:
1.5" wide nylon webbing or strap material of choice
To make the strap adjustable:
1 - 1.5" Tri-glide slider
2 - 1.5" D rings or 2 - 1.5" rectangle rings
To make the strap detachable:
2 - 1.5" swivel hooks
Optional materials:
2yds ribbon (optional if using a crochet strap) & thread in complimentary color
Magnetic snaps (optional bag closures)
Fray check (to prevent sewn liner edges fraying)
